Liberty States Fiction Writers

So I want to share about an organization that I joined a few months back called Liberty States Fiction Writers http://www.libertystatesfictionwriters.com/

It's a great organization who's members range from published authors to non-published aspiring writers like myself. The workshops are wonderful and the speakers they bring in are top notch.  I've met a lot of great people & always look forward to their meetings because I always learn something new.  I feel pretty fortunate to have a group like this close to home & that I have access to people who have actually been thru the trenches.  

So anyway wanted to say kudos to LSFW I'm so glad I found you.

Finished reading Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini

Here's a synopsis directly from  the book:

Loved this book, it was a nice change from all the other Young Adults out there because this one brings in Greek mythology. I'm not sure if there's a book 2 but sure hope so.

So now I picked up Passion by Lauren Kate (book about fallen angels) so looking forward to reading it. I have a weakness for bad boy angels.

Happy 4th of July...

Here we have a girl gazing into her hands filled with water (wish i had the link for who shot this but no such luck because I always like to give props to the originator). Anyway it's a great shot, I love the gypsy inspired outfit & the gazing into the water reminds me of my book. Maybe sometime in the future I'll redo this shot (could be fun).

Some things don’t last forever, but some things do. Like a good song, or a good book, or a good memory you can take out and unfold in your darkest times, pressing down the corners and peering in close, hoping you still recognize the person you see there.

I look at this & it feels like I've been here before (a memory) and I know I haven't.  Black & white pictures are my favorite I guess because you strip away the glitz & color leaving an almost raw scene, I find that more inspiring.  I look at those doors & wonder who could step out. I can also picture myself on that bench writing.  Love this picture!!!

Re-read (silent & outloud), re-write & write new stuff

In my case it doesn't necessarily happen in that order but I'm not complaining, I love what I do. I don't mind doing it at 2 in the morning.  And yes in case you're wondering reading your stuff outloud to yourself is bizarre & funny, after a while you forget that it's you who's talking (if that makes sense).  So yes right now I'm reading outloud & once again words that I hadn't noticed before suddenly jump out at me.  Ok let me get back to my reading.

No writer's block for me today (although I've had plenty of it) still reading outloud to myself. I just created a FB fan page, look for Tale To Be Told & you'll recognize the crystal ball. Please like it. G
